Kellen Moore breakdown

Emmitt Smith – Kellen Moore Breakdown

Emmitt Smith stopped by the SportsPUlse and had a great Q&A with host Jori Epstein. Emmitt covered the Cowboys in general and what they need to do to get back to the Super Bowl but he started out with an insightful Kellen Moore Breakdown. Smith’s take is interesting on a lot of levels. Emmitt doesn’t have an ax to grind as he is not in any particular “camp” in Frisco and his Hall of Fame credentials are impeccable, to say the least.

Kellen Moore Breakdown – via Emmitt Smith

“I think he’s opening it up and then allowing Dak Prescott to become a better quarterback, by giving him a lot more tools to work with and throwing the ball down the field, a little bit, giving him a chance to make those big plays.”

“Doing all these different things, makes for eye dressing and for eye distractions.”

“Now the ball isn’t necessarily thrown 15, 12, 10 yards down the field, the ball can actually go 35-40 ayrds down the field, which makes a big, big difference, in terms of how we utilize Ezekiel Elliott.”

“And so having balance is what’s really important in order to be successful in the National Football League. But being consistent throughout a 16-game schedule, plus the playoffs, is the one thing that can actually get you back to the Super Bowl.”

Pretty darn good endorsement of the new Dallas OC. Now about that consistency thing. Week 1 is in the bag. Week 2 is around the corner.
